Xiaomi India has made it mandatory for all its employees to download the Aarogya Setu app. Also, the company can pre-install this app in its upcoming smartphones. Xiaomi Vice President Manu Kumar Jain has given this information in a video conference call held yesterday.
After the pre-install of this app, new smartphone users of Xiaomi and Redmi will not need to download this app. This app will already be installed in all new models.
Let us know that according to the new guidelines released by the central government, it has been made mandatory for all private and public sector employees to download the Aarogya Setu app on their smartphones.
During the video conference call held on Monday, Manu Kumar Jain has also announced the launch of Mi 10 5G and to start selling smartphones and devices on its e-commerce platform.
Manu Jain said that the Aarogya Setu app launched by the central government helps in contact tracing and tracking of COVID-19 cases, which can prevent the spread of this dangerous virus.
Apart from Xiaomi, many other companies including Zomato have also made it mandatory for their employees to install the Aarogya Setu app.
However, Manu Jain has put a stop to the speculation coming in the past, saying that smartphone maker companies will have to pre-install the Aarogya Setu app to ship phones in India.
Manu Jain said that we have not received any such order or guideline from the government. If any such order comes, then this app will be pre-installed in Xiaomi’s future smartphones.
