Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 and he died in 30 January 1948. He was an India activist and he was leader of the Indian Independence movement against British Rule. He was a great freedom fighter. In India he was called as BAPU. He was also known as father of our nation.
He was born in a Hindu Merchant Caste familu in coastal(Gujrat) India. He studied law in South Africa.He Led nationwide movements and campaigns for India independence,poverty,women rights, untouchability and swaraj. Gandhi’s Birthday is celebrated as a national holiday a day of non violence and peace.

He Led Many movements in India Mahatma Gandhi top Movements Are:-
(1) Khilafat Movement
Mahatma Gandhi in year 1999 move towards Muslims as he found congress was being quite and week. He Led Khilafat movement is all about the worldwide protest against the status of caliph by Muslims. The movement was supported by Muslims to great extent and the success of this movement made him the national leader. khilafat movement was collapsed badly in 1922 and throughout their journey he fought against communism.

(2) Kheda Satyagraha
Kheda Satyagraha was One of the main movement led in 1918 a movement against the British Landlords. The farmers and preasantry was forced to grow indigo and forced to sell them at low fixed prices. Finally farmers tell this problem to Mahatma gandhi and he started a non- violent protest. Kheda, in the year 1918 was hit by floods and farmers wanted some relief from taxes. Gandhi use non-cooperation as his weapon. Gandhi is supported by many people and finally farmers got relief from tax. Government gave the provisons related to tax payment in May 1918.
(3) Non- cooperation Movement
Gandhi’s main motive to establish non- cooperation made non violent movement as his weapons against birtishers we all know about the jallianwala bagh massacre in which hundreds of child died. Gandhi took a a strong decision to take action against British Raj and then he began to focus on forming self government and established swaraj. The non violence movement included swadeshi policy boycotting goods and services and wearing khadi.
(4) Quit India Movement
Quite India Movement was civil disobedience movement launched in the year 1942. Do or die phrase was applied in this mass protest led by all India congress committee on a large scale. Britishers are refused to give independence to India and said that it will happen once world war IInd ends. During this movement by gandhi a lot of political leaders followers get imprisoned. But then Britishers finally realized that India will no longer no more under control in there government rule.
(5) Salt Satagraha Movement- Dandi March
Salt March was active in 1930 Gandhi started focusing on expanding against untouchability removal of all bad habits salt macrh mainly known as salt satyagraha. This movement was major part of Indian independence movement and against tax. Mainly in this movement Gandhi break the law of salt .By this movement mahatma gandhi got many follwers and attention by people. His principles was truth in dandi march revolution….
